COMMENTS

This LP is another collection of rare versions of
Beatles' songs dubbed from various legitimate releases. Its one true is "I Am The Walrus", which presents only the four Beatles playing in the studio, sans overdubs and sound effects. This was first released as a picture disk with the "butcher cover" photo on side-1 and liner notes and snapshots (similar in style to "The Beatles Rarities (U.S. Capitol SHAL 12060)" on side-2. It is presented as a promotional issue, although its serial number is similar to that of the legitimate Capitol picture disks. Later pressings of this disk were conventional issues on black vinyl. Back of LP cover reads "For promotional use only" and "Not for sale". |

This LP contains rare versions of songs dubbed from
various legitimate releases. It was rumored that this bootleg actually influenced
Capitol Records in its ultimate release of "The Beatles Rarities (U.S. Capitol
SHAL 12060)". This album is made to look like a Capitol promotional album, with promo serial number and purple label. Back of LP cover reads "For promotional use only" and "Not for sale". |

This 1985 album is the bootleg version of the ill-fated Parlophone "Sessions" project that never saw the light of day. Material covers the period from 1962 through 1969. It includes alternate takes, previously unreleased recordings, and recordings officially released by artists other than the Beatles. |

COMMENTS
|
The folks at NEMS Records took great care in bringing collectors an enjoyable product and one with at least a few unreleased goodies. This record has a bit of everything, but the stand out tracks are "Yes It Is" and "Paperback Writer" which are thought to be from the 1976 Heineken cassette which offered these two songs in stereo. "Birthday" is most likely an 'outtake'. |

Various familiar outtakes but a satisfying bootleg
of the "psychedelic era". "It's All Too Much" is lifted from "Magical Mystery Tour" and not the complete version. Alternate Pepper cover photo. |
