Black/yellow Parlophone label with silver print Type-4
Black and Yellow Parlophone label with silver print:
the name "THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD.(capital letter)" on the outer rim, the "SOLD IN U.K. ..." statement and the "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" statement was printed.

With a "FACTORY SAMPLE" sticker on the label of side-1.
After the test pressings were approved, and copies were run with the promo labels on them, the printer then loaded the machines with the proper labels for the disk's standard release. Then samples were taken from possibly each press machine making the records, and affixed with a sticker (red ink on white) and checked for quality.

The LP cover is a gatefold, with both front and back covers laminated, but the entire cover is one whole piece of material, connected on the inside-right cover by the laminated fold over flaps. To remove the disk from the cover, you have to open the gatefold and slide the disk out from the left.

The orange blog on the front cover is actually Tony Bramwell’s hand – as he was holding back tree branches for the photo shoot.
The back photo is not a simple picture – The Beatles image was cropped and superimposed over a background of leaves.

COMMENTS
First released in the UK in 1981, it was the first time since 1969/70 that a mono mix of the album was sold by EMI.
This premier mono reissue of the first of his eight albums (Please Please Me to Sgt. Pepper's) features a "60s" yellow/black reproduction label with a yellow Parlophone logo above the top. The word "thing" was added on the right side. Two of his Apple albums (The Beatles and Yellow Submarine) were issued by the Apple label, also in "mono" designation.

The 1981 mono pressing was originally issued for individual sale. It wasn't until much later, in 1982, that the albums were released together as a box set (catalog number BMC-10).

The 1981 issue is a press featuring his Y/B Parlophone reprint label from the '60s. After that, all mono pressings of the 80's and 90's used his standard universal silver/black 1 box label.
Copies of the 1981 mono pressing are rare, given the generally limited number of pressings of the 1981 series and the fact that each variant of the box set (500 copies each) is a "limited edition" It is no exaggeration to say that.

Presented in a semi-gloss "Garrod & Lofthouse" printed mono cover with original EMI inner sleeve.
The LP cover is a gatefold, but the entire cover is one whole piece of material, connected on the inside-right cover by the laminated fold over flaps.
