United Artists Records was a record label founded by Max E. Youngstein of United Artists in 1957 initially to distribute records of its movie soundtracks, though it soon branched out into recording music of a number of different genres.
The soundtracks from the James Bond movies and A Hard Day's Night (1964) were very popular United Artists releases in the 1960s. United Artists released many other movie soundtrack albums

    The first single, UA 745 was released in either late June or early July 1964 and featured "And I Love Her" backed with "Ringo's Theme".
    This single contains instrumental versions of Beatles songs by George Martin.
    The front of the sleeve is similar to the front cover of the soundtrack LP.

    The promo single labels are white with black text.

    United Artists used three factories to press its singles:
    (A) Columbia Records in Bridgeport, Conneticut
    (B) Columbia Records in Terre Haute, Indiana
    (C) Monarch Records in Los Angeles, Carifornia.

    Type 1-A: The single pressed in Bridgeport have "GEORGE MARTIN AND HIS ORCH." on 1 line on the label.

    The second single, UA 750 was released in either late September or early October 1964.
    It paired "A Hard Day's Night" with "I Should Have Known Better".
    This single contains instrumental versions of Beatles songs by George Martin.
    The front of the sleeve features a black and white picture of the group with a blue background rectangular box at the top. The text, graphics and layout of the blue upper portion of the sleeve are similar to that of the red upper portion of the first UA single. The back of the sleeve has a black and white Robert Freeman photograph of the group standing with George Martin that had previously appeared on the cover of Martin's first UA album, "Off The Beatle Track".

    Picture sleeves were printed by Queens Lito, are much less common than the picture sleeves to the huge-selling Capitol discs.
    The singles were pressed with white labels featuring the United Artists logo in black at the top.
