COMMENTS The Beatles Les Beatles French 10 inch (25cm) vinyl.
The record is on the orange and white Polydor label with the catalogue number 45900.
"The Beatles" is a 25cm LP, the first Fabs album released in this particular format, in France.

Polydor could not use images of The Beatles on the cover of the Hamburg material.
Each of the hairpieces placed on this coat rack represents the hair of John, Paul, George and Ringo. And here, these are real wigs, POLYDOR France is still unable to use a snapshot of the group to illustrate its cover.
This one is often referred to as 'the wig' cover, for obvious reasons.

It was released in May 1964, and is sort of the sum of the two EP's "Mister Twist" and "Ainft She Sweet". However, none of them are listed on the back.
This 25cm wig is not the only Beatles record in France in this format. There is a second 25 cm, much more recent, under the Charly Records label: "The Savage Young Beatles".
It is one of many avatars of Hamburg recordings, unrelated to Polydor.

Some sources mistakenly give the date as February, but EP 27-101, pictured on the back, was released in March, according to an official source.
EP 27-109, also pictured on the back, was issued later in March.
Since those EP's were regarded as hits, it's likely that the Beatles LP was compiled at the same time as German Polydor was releasing its singles.
EP 27-128 also by the Bab's, came out in May and is not pictured on the back of the LP.
