COMMENTS
In 1963, while "les Beatles" were ready to play live at Paris concert cityhall "l'Olympia" for 3 weeks, Odéon label published its second French EP : SOE 3741 " She Loves You ".
The French "SOE 3741" exists in 2 different and traditional label colors from "Odéon France". That is to say the dark blue and orange label. The dark blue color was pressed earlier than orange was. "SOE 3741" opened the French Beatles EP trilogy . Afterwards , Odeon France will only use orange label.

The earliest Odeon label style has ODÉON in large letters across the top of the label. Before some time in early 1964, the labels were dark blue in color. There were three EP's which were originally released on the dark blue Odeon label.
  • SOE 3739 Les Beatles (From Me To You +3) ‐‐cover like Introducing the Beatles
  • SOE 3739 Les Beatles (From Me To You +3)‐‐cover has Beatles in French uniforms
  • SOE 3741 Les Beatles (She Loves You +3)‐‐French titles shown first
  • SOE 3741 Les Beatles (She Loves You +3)‐‐English titles first
  • SOE 3745 I Want to Hold Your Hand +3
The prefix "S" does not stand for stereo, but probably rather “standard.” All of the SOE series EP's are in mono.
On side-1 label: BIEM" logo in the box was printed
On side-2 label: "B.I.E.M. CHAPPELL" logo was printed.

On the back cover is printed a short text that highlights the sales (and pre-orders) staggering of "She Loves You" and "I Want To Hold Your Hand", the new No. 1 at the time. The Royal Variety Performance (04.11.1963) is also mentioned.

There are two different versions for the cover of the SOE 3745. They differ in the four reminders, updates on the second printing:

First Press shows EVERYTHING that already existed on the French market in all formats at the time of the publication of this "Super 45 Tours":
  • SOE 3739 From Me To You
  • SOE 3741 She Loves You
  • OSX 222 Beatles
  • OSX 225 Beatles N°1
Second Press: The text is the same, but we see that the four reminders were replaced by four reminders closer to the latest releases. This is four EPs:
  • SOE 3741 She Loves You, the sole survivor of the original reminders
  • SOE 3746 Roll Over Beethoven
  • SOE 3750 Can not Buy Me Love
  • SOE 3751 All My Loving
DILLARD et Cie, lmp. Paris: Printing company located in Paris, France, headed by Michel Dillard (an old publisher from La Sirène éditions musicales).
Often appears on releases as "Dillard et Cie. Imp. Paris" or "Dillard & Cie, Imp. Paris".

COMMENTS
For the first few months of 1966, a few EP's were issued on a red label with large ODÉON. It is easy to see that this was an intermediary release, since by this time the Odeon logo on the EP covers had changed. The EP's which exist in this intermediate form are:

  • MEO 102   Michelle +3   27 Ja 66 $60
  • MEO 105   Yesterday +3   21 Fe 66
  • MEO 106   Beatles 1965 (8 Days a Wk. +3) 04 Mr 66
  • MEO 107   We Can Work It Out + 3   21 Mr 66
  • MEO 108 Ticket to Ride + 3 28 Ap 66
Two of the intermediate red label EP's contained new material, MEO 102 and MEO 107. But although MEO 105 is a "Yesterday" EP, it is not a reissue of SOE 3772; instead, it is a domestic release of EP MOE 21004, which had previously been made only for export.
The EP’s numbered MEO‐101 and MEO‐102 were released in January, 1966.  While the
Hollies EP is scarcer, the Beatles’ MEO‐102 may be found having a label marked “Médium” at
the right side, or (less commonly) with a label showing an “M” in a circle.  The circle‐M appears on most releases beginning in February, 1966.    Later pressings of these records sometimes show “M” without a circle.

At the beginning of May, 1966, Odeon replaced their earlier label with a red label and their logo with a logo that more closely resembled those used in other countries. The red label appears on all Odeon releases of the time, but when France took up the EEC numbering in 1969, they stopped using the original catalog numbers on Beatles releases.
EP's originally released on the red label are shown below. You will notice that some records
which were originally released on the dark blue/orange label were reissued and given new
catalog numbers. Although the EP was essentially replaced by the single, or simple, in 1967, the EP's continued to be issued on the red label at least through 1969.
The above four "transitional" EP's were reissued onto the red label.

  • MEO 108   Ticket to Ride + 3   Reissue
  • MEO 112   I Want to Hold Your Hand +3   05 My 66
  • MEO 113   Help!   12 My 66
  • MEO 116   Another Girl + 3   09 Jn 66
  • MEO 119   Paperback Writer +3   27 Jn 66
  • MEO 126   Yellow Submarine +3   31 Oc 66
  • MEO 134   I'm Only Sleeping +3 (Penny Lane) Mr 67
