EMI/Odeon Blue label
type-4: "EMI / Odeon" logo mark in black ink was printed at the top of the blue label. "GEMA" logo (narrow type) was printed on both sides of the label. "MADE IN GERMANY" and ST 33 in a circle for stereo edition were printed. "LC" mark was not printed at the top of the blue label. EMI / Odeon Blue label variations: Type-1: GEMA logo in a box / ST 33 in a circle Type-2: GEMA without box / ST 33 in a circle Type-3-1:GEMA without box / ST 33 in a oval Type-3-2:GEMA without box and (P) 196X / ST 33 in a oval Type-4: 062 with "LC" mark / ST 33 in a oval Type-5: 072 with "LC" mark / ST 33 in a oval The change to the blue label came during the second half of 1968, some months before the change to the EEC catalog numbers. Several LP's are known with blue labels and the old "SMO" number." The change from the old logo to the new logo happened around catalog number 74 411. The EEC numbering began just after 74 490. For Domestic issue
*The EEC numbering mean the country of release can been readily identified from the first two characters : 1C = Germany 2C = France 3C = Italy 4C = Belguim 5C = Holland 7C = Sweden 10C = Spain 11C = Portugal 14C = Greece Special note for Spain - "1J" instead of "10C" was used for several years (1969 to 1977, as from the "Get Back" single) to refer to records manufactured by EMI-Odeon in Spain, before the international "European codification". All references with "1J" were replaced by "10C" as from 1977. * GEMA (Gesellschaft für musikalische Aufführungs- und mechanische Vervielfältigungsrechte.) was started in 1915 and handles the copyright in Germany. |
