Parlophone and Apple Label 45-DPE (India Original Released) Series [1964-1970]

Indian singles come in two varieties: the original series released in the UK (catalog numbers beginning with 45-R) and the Indian edition series released in India (catalog numbers beginning with 45-DPE). In 1964 India had labels with “Made in India” at the bottom of the label, six o’clock. By fall 1964 they were issuing the “Limited Liability” rim print on black labels which had Made in India at 10 o’clock and the LL jargon at 2 o’clock. Sometime in 1965 the next version had black labels with “Private” in the message around the rim, at 2 o’clock, still with Made in India at 10 o’clock. So, some Beatles India Parlophone singles have up to 3 black label versions.
