the Capitol disk uses a cropped version of Joe Covello's Ed
Sullivan Show color photo from the front cover of "Something
New" LP. "THE BEATLES" appears in white at the top of the sleeve. The song titles, the catalogue number 5255 and the Capitol logo are in black. First Press: Orange and yellow swirl label without "subsidary" print. There are East Coast and West Coast version. 1) East Coast version: picture sleeve issued in straight cut top. The label have the song title and the group's name loosely spaced compared with the West Coast version. 2) West Coast version: picture sleeve issued tub cut top. |
