MGM's second Beatles single was
released on 27th. March, 1964. MGM Records issued another 45 pairing two songs from the Beatles Hamburg sessions. MGM obtaind the rights to Tony Sheridan's "Why" and the Beatles instrumental "Cry For A Shadow" under the same leasing agreement covering "My Bonnie" and "The Saints". Some copies of the single were packaged in a red title sleeve. (1)The singles pressed for the East Coast were manufactured by MGM's factory in Bloomfield, New Jeersey. The labels for these disks were printed by Pace Press in New York. (2)West Coast singles were pressed by H.V. Waddell Co. in Burbank, California. The Bloomfield pressings (East coast) of the record list the publisher for "Why" as "Al Gallico Music BMI" while the Waddell pressings (West coast) list the publisher "Al Gallico Music Corp. BMI".
